The Luxurious Marble Circus Returns With Its Biggest Spectacle Yet

by | Sep 8, 2026 | Entertainment

The two-day Johannesburg festival returns in September with live entertainment, ambitious food, immersive brand experiences and a R1.1 million legacy programme. Some festivals are measured by ticket sales. The Luxurious Marble Circus is measured in champagne flutes, pyrotechnics, plates of food, unexpected performances and the number of times someone asks, “Wait, what is that over there?”

Following two sold-out editions, The Luxurious Marble Circus returns to Ground The Venue on 26 and 27 September 2026. This year’s festival will transform more than 75,000 square metres into an immersive playground filled with food, music, fashion and plenty of surprises. Here is what guests can expect from The Luxurious Marble Circus 2026.

16,000 Festivalgoers

The festival is preparing to welcome 8,000 guests per day, with 16,000 people expected across the weekend. After establishing itself as one of South Africa’s most ambitious and meticulously produced festivals in 2025, the 2026 edition promises a bigger spectacle without losing the detail, intimacy and eccentricity that made previous events stand out.

25 Immersive Brand Spaces

Across the festival grounds, 25 brand spaces will offer far more than conventional sponsorship signage.

Guests can take a spin on the Investec Wheel of Wonder, explore the Whimzalicious Wine Garden, raise a glass with Moët & Chandon or spend time in the Savanna Dry District. Other participating brands include 947, Johnnie Walker, Don Julio, Country Road, Samsung, Mercedes-Benz and Heineken. Each space has been designed to give festivalgoers another reason to explore, interact and stay a little longer.

33,000 Dishes

Food remains one of the festival’s biggest attractions. This year, guests can expect more menus, curated canapés, Pantry-inspired dishes, finger food, sushi, soft-serve and desserts. Chef David Higgs will lead a team of 144 culinary professionals each day. They will be supported by 86 waiters and 180 bar staff.

Serving the feast requires some serious hardware. Around 38,000 pieces of crockery and cutlery, weighing approximately eight tonnes, will be used across the weekend. Drinks will also be served in more than 40,000 recycled pink LMC cups.

240 Musicians and Performers

The entertainment programme will deliver 22 hours of live music and performance across the two days. A total of 240 musicians and performers will appear on, around and throughout the main stage, with entertainment running from noon until closing time.

The main stage is a spectacle in its own right. Measuring 68 metres wide, 22 metres deep and 24 metres high, it required 584 hours of design work and 74 hours of construction. The weekend will also feature 2,600 pyrotechnic cues.

Four Legacy Pillars

The festival’s impact is intended to continue after the final performance. Now in its third year, LMC Legacy is expected to distribute R1.1 million to its beneficiaries. Initiated by Investec, the programme brings participating partners together around four pillars: Feed More Mouths, Fuel More Magic, Favour More Fashion and Foster Sustainability.

Its goals include quadrupling food-garden yields, supporting sustainable fashion and creative careers, and diverting more than 80% of the event’s waste away from landfill.

A Full Year of Planning

Behind the food, performances and polished production is a year of work. More than 70 full-time staff members from Grid Worldwide, The Marble Group, G&G The Goosebumps Company and grand collaborator Investec have contributed to the 2026 festival. Their work covers everything from creative direction and storytelling to construction, lighting, styling, catering and rehearsals. It is the behind-the-scenes effort that allows the experience to feel effortless when the gates finally open.

The numbers reveal the scale, but The Luxurious Marble Circus is ultimately built around the moments guests cannot predict. Tickets for the 26 and 27 September festival are available now.
