Prince Grootboom’s digital cover celebration was an afternoon rooted in culture, conversation and community.
Hosted by Tempo Luxury Restaurant in partnership with Men’s Health South Africa and Don Julio, the intimate celebration brought together Prince’s close friends, family and friends of the brand for an afternoon honouring the actor’s latest career milestone in style.
Set against the luxurious backdrop of Tempo in Sunninghill, guests spent the afternoon connecting over exceptional food, cocktails and meaningful conversation as the room reflected the warmth and energy that has made Prince one of South Africa’s rising stars.
Guests were treated to a curated fine-dining experience prepared by Tempo Executive Chef Bonga Williams, with a menu that blended elevated flavours with local influences.
To begin, guests selected from a range of standout starters including lamb croquettes served with minted amasi cream, prawn and mango tostadas with atchaar salsa, truffle and umngqusho arancini, and chargrilled calamari paired with paprika butter and tomato relish.
For mains, the menu continued to impress with dishes including harissa-marinated lamb cutlets served with roasted butternut purée, charred baby carrots and minted coulis, alongside braised short rib with red wine and tamarind jus served with smoked paprika mashed potatoes. Guests could also choose between a fillet mignon accompanied by truffle potato pavé, sautéed mushrooms and red wine berry reduction, or a pan-seared line fish served with coconut-infused basmati rice and lemon barbere butter.
Dessert offered the perfect ending to the afternoon, with guests indulging in decadent cheesecake and rich chocolate dessert options. Adding to the atmosphere, Don Julio served a selection of signature cocktails throughout the celebration, with guests sipping on Palomas and Margaritas as conversations flowed across the afternoon.
