Launching in South Africa was a deliberate move. The Johannesburg debut embodied African ambition at scale. It offered a premium live experience that reflected the continent’s creative evolution and global influence.

The Johannesburg show also served as the final stop on Asake’s Africa tour. This transformed the night into an emotional and symbolic homecoming. Fans were treated to a set that elevated his signature sound beyond the familiar.
Orchestral arrangements added depth to his biggest hits. Meanwhile, the powerful harmonies of the Soweto Choir brought a uniquely South African texture to the performance. Surprise guest appearances from Focalistic and Young Jonn further amplified the moment, uniting Nigerian and South African heavyweights on one stage.

A Pan African Lineup That Set the Tone
The night unfolded as a layered cultural showcase. A carefully curated lineup reinforced the pan African spirit of the event. Sets from Nights in Lagos and GBEDU Nights kept the energy high, while standout performances from SHLUDA DE GURU & LUTHOHASBADMANNERS, JAZZWRLD & THUKUTHELA, and Musa Keys ensured the crowd stayed locked in from start to finish.
The blend of Afrobeats, Amapiano, and contemporary African sounds highlighted the shared musical language shaping the continent’s current wave.
Asake’s Global Rise Rooted in African Sound
From chart-topping anthems to emotionally charged live renditions, Asake’s performance showcased his evolution into a global artist. He remains deeply rooted in African sound. His seamless collaborations with South African artists spoke to a synergy that transcends borders and signals a new era of African musical excellence.
The night was not just about performance. It was about connection, collaboration, and cultural exchange.
“Curated By Culture aims to create meaningful moments that feel authentic, grounded, and globally relevant,” said Kenneth Agyapong, Co-Founder of AfroFuture. “Launching this platform in South Africa with Asake, an artist who embodies the spirit of modern Africa, was both essential and symbolic.
