The limited edition comes in a packaging that has been specially designed to give solitary bees much-needed homes. The beautifully crafted boxes in which the gin is packaged are intended to be repurposed as bee hotels and to give these vital pollinators a place to nest and rest in gardens or even on balconies.
Inverroche Bee&Bee is a highlight of Inverroche’s ‘By Nature’ campaign, which celebrates the relationship between the brand and nature. The initiative is also aligned with the brand’s promise, which is to respect, work with and replenish the natural environment and to build an emotional connection with its audience, which is by nature pioneering and the first to create.
Who knew that not all bees are Honeybees? Surprisingly, more than 90% of South African bee species are Solitary Bees that don’t sting and produce honey at all. Chevonne Reynolds, a biodiversity researcher and founder of the Jozi Bee Hotel Project that Inverroche has partnered with Inverroche for this campaign shared that, unlike honey bees who live in a hive and rely on the queen for breeding, solitary bees are dependent on their natural nesting for survival.

Phillip Hollander and Stephen Wilson from the sustainable furniture company, Houtlander, created bee hotels that are craft pieces in their own right. Each Inverroche Bee&Bee box is made using invasive alien tree species and is designed to have multiple-sized holes, which mimic the holes the bees would use in nature.
The 750ml Inverroche Bee&Bee mix is tall and strong and contains fynbos that was harvested from the limestone-rich lowlands of the Cape Floral Kingdom.
And as a way to support the solitary bees, Lorna Scott, CEO and Founder of Inverroche Distillery South Africa highlighted the importance of these bees in the pollination of the fynbos, adding that the brand endeavours to celebrate this through their Inverroche gins while giving back to nature through their bottle packaging.
