Samsung is doubling down on its audio ambitions with the launch of the new Samsung Galaxy Buds4 Pro and Samsung Galaxy Buds4. Designed to combine premium sound with everyday wearability, the latest earbuds represent the brand’s most advanced approach yet to wireless audio. Here is what you need to know about the new Buds4 series and how the flagship Buds4 Pro performs in real world testing.

Samsung’s New Buds Aim to Redefine Everyday Listening

According to Samsung, the Buds4 series was built around a simple idea. Premium sound should not exist in isolation from comfort or everyday usability.

The new earbuds combine updated hardware with smarter software features that adapt to changing environments. Whether you are listening to music on your commute, taking calls at the office or tuning out distractions during a workout, the Buds4 lineup aims to deliver a consistent experience.

“Samsung understands that a truly premium audio experience combines technical sound quality with how that sound feels throughout a user’s day,” said Ikhyun Cho, Corporate VP of the Mobile Enhancement R&D Team within Samsung’s Mobile eXperience Business. “With the Galaxy Buds4 series, our design philosophy was uncompromising, providing all day comfort without sacrificing audio performance.”

A New Design Built on Data

One of the most noticeable changes is the new blade style design. Samsung says the Buds4 series was developed using hundreds of millions of global ear data points and more than 10,000 simulations.

The result is a smaller, more ergonomic earbud shape intended to improve stability and comfort during long listening sessions. The stabilised blade also introduces a premium metal finish and engraved pinch controls that make it easier to manage playback or adjust volume directly from the earbuds.

The charging case has also been refreshed. The new transparent clamshell style cradle highlights the blade design while offering a compact and intuitive storage solution.

Hardware Upgrades for Better Sound

Under the hood, the Buds4 Pro introduces a wider woofer designed to expand the vibration area while keeping the earbuds compact. Paired with a dedicated tweeter, the system aims to deliver fuller bass, clearer highs and more detailed sound.

The earbuds support 24 bit and 96kHz audio on compatible Galaxy devices such as those in the Samsung Galaxy S26 series. Samsung says the updated speaker configuration allows the earbuds to reproduce a wider range of frequencies, from subtle instrumental details to deeper bass tones that were harder to achieve in earlier models.

Smarter Noise Control

The Buds4 series also introduces enhanced Active Noise Cancellation and Adaptive EQ technology. These systems analyse how the earbuds sit in your ears and adjust sound and noise cancellation in real time. The goal is to minimise sound leakage while ensuring audio remains balanced across different listening environments. Super Clear Call technology also improves call quality by using machine learning to reduce background noise and enhance voice clarity.

For users within the Galaxy ecosystem, the Buds4 Pro adds deeper integration with AI assistants such as Bixby, Google Gemini and Perplexity AI, allowing hands-free interaction directly from the earbuds. The Buds4 series launches alongside the Samsung Galaxy S26 series and becomes available globally from March.

Tried & Tested: Samsung Galaxy Buds4 Pro Review

Beyond the launch claims and technical specs, the real test is how the earbuds perform in everyday life. After spending time with the Samsung Galaxy Buds4 Pro during my daily 5km runs, on a 10-hour flight and through everyday listening, one thing became clear. These are some of the most balanced earbuds Samsung has produced.

Fit and Comfort During Movement

Comfort is often where earbuds either win you over or lose you completely. The Buds4 Pro land firmly in the first category.

The canal fit design creates a secure seal without feeling overly tight. During my daily 5km runs, the earbuds stayed locked in place without constant adjustment. That stability matters when you are moving, sweating or adjusting your pace.

Even after extended listening sessions, the buds never felt fatiguing. On a long flight where they were in use for several hours at a time, the lightweight design made them easy to forget about. That is often the mark of a well designed pair of earbuds.

Sound Quality That Feels Richer

Sound is where the Buds4 Pro really shines. The wider woofer delivers deeper bass while still keeping the overall sound balanced. Tracks feel fuller and more immersive without becoming muddy or overpowering.

Vocals sit clearly in the mix and instruments have more separation than in previous Samsung earbuds. Whether listening to my favourite podcasts, Spotify playlists or acoustic tracks during a flight, the clarity holds up.

The earbuds also support high-resolution audio when paired with compatible devices such as my current phone, which adds another layer of depth for listeners who prioritise sound quality.

Noise Cancellation That Makes Travel Easier

Active Noise Cancellation is one of the biggest reasons people upgrade to premium earbuds.

On a long haul flight, the Buds4 Pro handled the constant hum of aircraft engines surprisingly well. The ANC noticeably softened background noise, making it easier to focus on music, movies or podcasts without pushing the volume too high.

The adaptive noise features also help the earbuds adjust depending on how they sit in your ears. In practice, this creates a more consistent listening experience without needing to constantly tweak settings.

Strong Call Quality

Call performance is another area where the Buds4 Pro stands out.

Multiple microphones and Samsung’s noise reduction technology help isolate your voice during calls. Even in louder environments, conversations remained clear without sounding distorted or distant. For anyone who regularly takes calls while walking or travelling, that reliability makes a real difference.

Battery Life That Covers a Full Day

Battery life is competitive with other premium earbuds in this category.

The Buds4 Pro delivers roughly six hours of listening time with noise cancellation enabled and up to seven hours without it. With the charging case included, total listening time stretches to around 30 hours. In everyday use, that means you can comfortably get through a full day of workouts, commuting and calls without worrying about charging.

Setup and Controls

Getting started with the Samsung Galaxy Buds4 Pro is straightforward, especially if you are already within the Samsung ecosystem.

Opening the charging case near a Galaxy device quickly triggers the pairing prompt, and within seconds the earbuds are connected and ready to use. From there, the Galaxy Wearable app allows you to run a fit test, check battery levels and customise sound settings.

Controls on the earbuds are intuitive once you get used to them. Pinch gestures let you play or pause music, skip tracks and answer calls, while swipe controls adjust the volume directly from the earbuds.

During testing, these controls became second nature after a few uses. Being able to adjust playback or volume without reaching for your phone is particularly useful when running or commuting.

Customising Sound and Smart Features

The Buds4 Pro also allows users to customise their sound profile through different EQ options, including Bass Boost, Treble Boost, Clear and Dynamic modes.

Testing across different genres made the tuning flexibility clear. Bass heavy tracks benefit from the added depth of the Bass Boost mode, while acoustic and vocal focused music sounds more balanced using the default profile.

Samsung has also leaned into AI powered convenience. The earbuds support voice commands for assistants such as Bixby, Google Gemini and Perplexity AI, allowing users to check information, set reminders or send messages without touching their phone.

Head gesture controls add another hands free option. A simple nod can accept a call while shaking your head declines it, which is surprisingly useful when your hands are busy.

The Verdict

The Samsung Galaxy Buds4 Pro does not try to reinvent the wireless earbud category. Instead, it refines it.

From a secure fit during runs to impressive noise cancellation on long flights, the earbuds perform consistently across different environments. Add strong audio quality, reliable call performance and seamless integration with the Galaxy ecosystem, and the result is a polished everyday companion.

For users who want premium earbuds that can handle workouts, travel and daily listening without compromise, the Buds4 Pro is an easy recommendation.
