Road to Paris: The South African Paralympians to Watch

A few days right after the 2024 Olympics, more action is on the way! With just 7 days to go, the 2024 Paralympic Games kick off in Paris and many exceptional paralympians from South Africa aim to bring back the gold, silver or bronze.

The financial incentives for medallists are the same as for the Paris 2024 Olympic athletes: athletes who win gold will be awarded R400 000, with the coach receiving R100 000. Silver medallists will earn R200 000 and R50 000, while the bronze medal reward will be R75 000 and R25 000 for the athlete and coach, respectively.

When are the 2024 Paralympics?

The 2024 Paralympic Games are set to take place in Paris, from 28 August to 8 September 2024. South Africa will participate for the ninth time since its return to the world stage in 1992.
