The 2025 Nedbank International Polo wasn’t just about thrilling chukkas—it was the year fashion galloped forward under the bold banner of Equestrian Avant-Garde. And no brand embraced that spirit with more flair than Glenfiddich. Inside the Equus Lounge, the iconic single malt whisky label delivered a masterclass in detail, refinement and daring personal expression.

From the moment guests entered the Glenfiddich lounge, it was clear: this wasn’t just luxury—it was layered, intentional and confidently original. Think velvet textures, sharp tailoring and lush greenery. The space reflected Glenfiddich’s signature sophistication with a modern edge, aligning perfectly with the event’s avant-garde energy.

Where Whisky Meets Wardrobe

The Nedbank Polo has always drawn a stylish crowd, but 2025 was different. Equestrian Avant-Garde called for boldness and attendees delivered—pairing traditional silhouettes with unexpected details: dramatic accessories, breezy tailoring, Cuban collars and linen in earthy tones. It wasn’t about overdressing—it was about dressing with purpose.

Glenfiddich mirrored this aesthetic perfectly. Neat pours of the 12-, 15-, 18- and 21-Year-Olds flowed beside bold reinterpretations of cocktail classics. The lounge favourite? A Popcorn Old-Fashioned—smoky, buttery and brimming with nostalgic charm.

A Lounge Built for Storytelling

Beyond the bar, the experience unfolded like a curated fashion spread. Delicate floral installations, artful botanicals and textural contrasts created a space that looked—and felt—designed for editorial. Glenfiddich understood the assignment: today’s luxury is a story, not a status.

Elegant small plates floated across the room, each dish thoughtfully crafted to match the whisky’s layered notes. The entire experience—visual, sensory, sartorial—embodied Equestrian Avant-Garde without ever feeling forced.

“The Nedbank International Polo is a true highlight on the local sporting calendar, and this year’s match lived up to every expectation,” said Guy Slater, President of the South African Polo Association. “Both teams showcased the best of international polo, and we’re immensely proud of the sportsmanship, precision, and passion they brought to the field.”

The South African side, led by Tom De Bruin, alongside Jack Spilsbury, Adrian Lavarinhas, Jean du Plessis and Johann du Preez (reserve), held their own against the determined Argentine team in a contest that was as tactical as it was tenacious.

Glenfiddich honoured the athletes in fitting style. Each international player received a bottle of Glenfiddich 15-Year-Old—bold, balanced, and matured with intention. Much like the game they played.
