This breakfast shake will ensure every last nutrient bypasses your belly and goes straight to your muscles; it will better your digestive health and ensure that more kilojoules become muscle, not fat.
You will need:
- A tablespoon of Honey
- One or two apples
- One grated teaspoon of ginger
- Two or three limes
- A handful of berries
- Bulgarian Yoghurt
- Ice Cubes
- A banana
- Milk
Honey is good for gym-goers as it is for( cartoon bears); honey brings insulin regulating properties to the picnic, turning kilojoules into muscle. It also balances your stomach bacteria – dollop in about a tablespoon.
An apple a day keeps the saddle bags at bay by speeding absorption and flushing out blood lipids. Cut up an apple or two and throw them in (with the skins), this will help flush the fat as well as provide you with a daily dose of fibre.
This anti-inflammatory spice will root out irritants, protecting your bowel from the additives in processed foods. One grated teaspoon will keep your metabolism high too and soothe your gut; gut-soothing ginger.
Squeezing two to three limes into the mix will trigger your stomach to secrete more digestion-friendly fluids. It also raises your blood alkalinity: a vital tool for muscle growth
The fibre found in blueberries has been found to reduce fat storage and burns those kilojoules. Add a handful.
The fillers, milk and yoghurt is essential as they contain healthy wallops of protein and probiotics which helps your stomach convert kilojoules into muscle fuel. Throw all the ingredients in a blender, and add a few cubes of ice and a banana for thickness, then blitz.
Side note: If you want an extra cold smoothie, cut up your banana, and freeze the pieces overnight before putting them in the blender.
