The opening aligns with New Balance’s annual Grey Day, a celebration of the colour grey, which holds a special place in the brand’s history. As part of the Grey Day festivities, New Balance released a short film called “Grey Days.” The film highlights the role grey has played in the brand’s journey, from sportswear to street fashion.
Craig Bowen, New Balance’s Country Manager, believes the film will connect with their community. “We hope Grey Days inspires people to appreciate the timeless elegance of grey,” he says.

At the store’s opening, New Balance showcased two key items from the latest Grey Days collection: the Grey Days WRPD Runner and the 1906R. These pieces highlight the brand’s focus on quality and the versatile appeal of grey.

The Sandton City store also features the innovative Uncommonly Common Concept (UCC), previously introduced in Durban and Cape Town. The UCC aims to make shopping more personal and engaging, offering a space where customers can explore and connect with the brand.
