What are the top male grooming and skincare trends for 2023?
The global men’s skincare products market reached $13 billion by the end of 2022 with the leading areas of growth being toiletries, such as shower products, deodorant, hair care, and skincare. In addition, shaving and beard care products, and even fragrances have been booming in sales.
“Men’s grooming routines have developed far beyond the old-reliable quick shave and comb-over. The man of today dedicates time and effort to making sure he looks presentable during office hours and leisure time. Plus, more and more men are interested in learning about good grooming practices,” explains Clere For Men brand manager, Themba Ndlovu.
This year we’ll see new grooming and skincare trends emerge, and some current ones garner more popularity. Ndlovu lists what we should be on the lookout for below:
This trend goes together with multi-use products. We will be avoiding the use of unnecessary products and instead opt for the bare minimum for the most effective. It’s about quality over quantity (using multifunctional and rich products). A minimalistic skincare routine should comprise the following:
Wash your skin twice a day
Start and end each day with a clean slate. Just like a minimalist room looks and feels the best when everything is clean and organised, so will your skin when you take a few minutes to remove the dirt and oil.

Moisturise For Protection In The Morning
After washing your face in the morning, it’s always a good idea to apply a moisturiser to help protect your skin for the day ahead. Moisture loss is one of the most common signs of ageing. As you get older, your skin loses its ability to retain water giving it a wrinkled, worn-out appearance.
Moisturise For Restoration In The Evening
You’ll need to hydrate your skin again in the evening after a shower or bath. A nourishing product that promotes hydration is ideal.
Multi-Use Grooming Products
This year, people have been looking for products that go above and beyond (and take up less space on the bathroom shelf). Less time-consuming, but they do their job just as well, this is a trend that will continue into 2023 as more people look to a simplified yet effective skincare routine.
Clere For Men’s Gly-Co-Jelly combines Glycerine and Petroleum Jelly creating a skincare solution that provides 48 hours of moisture, instantly nourishing your skin and helping to lock in moisture. It restores and revives dry, ashy skin, leaving it instantly smooth.

We should be giving as much attention to our bodies as we do our faces. Professionals are touting body care as the new skincare, and while products that combine skincare and body care are already on the rise, 2023 will see this trend grow more.
