Made from up-cycled yacht mainsails, spinnakers and headsales, each Resails bag is unique in appearance and fabrication.
Markings from actual sailing expeditions provide each Resails bag with its own charm, with salvaged race numbers also stitched onto the bags for added character.
Resails was founded in San Diego, USA by Christian Schlebach in 1995. Christian, an avid sailor developed a way to recycle yacht sails to create durable bags. He now operates his business with his brother Mike, a renowned South African big wave surfer.
Duffel bags (R695) have a beautifully lined interior compartment and a removable shoulder scrap. Dopp kits (men’s toiletry bags, R395) are constructed from lighter and softer recycled sailcloth.
The Schlebach brothers have paid particular attention to the bags’ hardware. Large zips afford a surfer’s numb hands the ease of opening and closing a bag, especially after surfing the ice-cold Atlantic Ocean.
Resails is available exclusively at Loom.
