The Boardshorts For Your Body

by | Dec 8, 2014 | Style & Grooming

Despite the adjustable waistbands, swimming trunks are not one-size-fits-all. Finding the right look takes as much care as it does with any other garment – maybe even more, since you’re otherwise naked. Here’s the low down on the best swimsuit for your body type

Short
Here’s a trick for men under 1.73m: keep your swimsuit length above the knee to make your legs appear longer. Remember, the longer your shorts, the shorter you look. You’re not trying to be Shorty in Schuks Tshabalala.

Tall
If you have the altitude that’s similar to Andries Bekker, reverse the short guy’s strategy: even out your proportions with longer shorts that hit at the top or bottom of the knee. We like horizontal stripes.

Slim
No need to feel self-conscious if you’re a skinny guy. Fill out your profile with more volume in the suit. Bold patterns and colour blocking (wearing prominent solids) add substance to your size.

Heavy
Big men, we’ve got you covered too. For a flattering look, try a classic fit, neither baggy nor skin-tight. Also: darker colours, denser prints or patterns and vertical stripes will help make you appear leaner.
