Can’t stand your feet? Here’s a step-by-guide on how to revive your feet, along with the products to help you do it.
Fill a basin with warm water. Add a foot soak like this Organic Shop Foot Scrub or, if you don’t have one, just add a tablespoon of baking soda and a splash of bath oil for the same effect. Soak feet for 20 minutes to soften calluses and corns.
Using a foot skin file (Bee Natural Foot File), remove dead skin cells. Primary areas of concern are heels, the balls of your feet and the outer edge of your big toe. A pumice stone also works well to remove calluses and dry skin. A foot sloughing cream is also a fast and effective way to remove dry skin and flakiness.
Apply a rich moisturising foot cream (Lulu And Marula Soothing Balm) to your feet. When used after a soak and sloughing, it’s absorbed quickly and helps to minimise the return of rough and hard skin.
Clean under your toe nails and trim. Use nail clippers or nail scissors. Keep your toe nails short with about a millimetre or two of the white showing. Be sure to fi le split or rough edges with an emery board. File in one direction to smooth away tears and breaks.
